Grace Notes in Guitar Pro 8
Grace notes are fast melodic ornaments played before a target note, adding expression and fluidity to your scores in Guitar Pro 8.
Available in the Editing Palette and the Effects menu, they enrich your melodies by creating an effect of surprise or emphasis. They can be placed before the beat or on the beat.
Grace Note Before the Beat
The grace note before the beat inserts a short note that is played immediately before the main note, without changing its duration. It is often used to prepare and highlight the target note, providing a sense of momentum.
Grace Note On the Beat
The grace note on the beat starts exactly on the beat of the target note, slightly reducing its duration. This creates a tension or accent effect by shifting the timing of the main note.
Application
Grace notes are added from the Editing Palette. Select a target note and click on the desired icon:
to add a grace note before the beat, displayed smaller with a slash.
to add a grace note on the beat, also shown smaller, slightly displacing the main note.
The added note always appears in smaller characters in the tablature, to clearly distinguish it from the main note.
