Sustain Pedal in Guitar Pro 8

The Sustain Pedal option in Guitar Pro allows you to insert “Ped.” annotations and an asterisk to indicate precisely when a pianist should press and release the sustain pedal.

Available in the Editing Palette or via the Effects menu, it offers a simple way to mark the activation and deactivation of the sustain, extending or cutting the resonance according to your intention.

Application

  1. Select a note or a beat in your score.
  2. Activate the option using the Sustain Pedal icon in the Editing Palette, or via Effects > Sustain Pedal.
  3. The “Ped.” annotation appears to indicate the press and trigger the sustained sound during playback.
  4. Then add an asterisk to indicate the release and end the sustain.
