Slap, Pop, and Golpe in Guitar Pro 8

Slap, Pop, and Golpe in Guitar Pro are annotations that indicate percussive techniques for bass and guitar.

Available from the Editing Palette or Effects menu, Slap and Pop apply to the bass, while Golpe is used with the guitar.

Slap (bass)

Slap Slap involves striking a bass string with the thumb to produce a percussive sound.
In Guitar Pro, select a note and click the Slap icon in the Editing Palette.

The effect is shown in the tablature and played by the RSE engine using a dedicated sample.

Slap Pop

Pop (bass)

Pop Pop involves pulling a higher-pitched bass string with a finger to create a sharp, clear sound.

In Guitar Pro, select a note and apply the effect using the Pop icon, available in the Editing Palette.

The annotation appears in the tablature, and the effect is rendered by the RSE engine.

Golpe (guitar)

Golpe finger Golpe thumb Golpe is a percussive tap on the body of the guitar with a finger or thumb, used as a rhythmic accent.

In Guitar Pro, select a position, then click the Golpe finger or Golpe thumb icon in the Editing Palette.

The effect is displayed above the staves and played by the audio engine.
