Exporting MIDI in Guitar Pro 8
Guitar Pro 8 enables you to export your scores in MIDI format (.mid) using the File > Export > MIDI menu, making them compatible with other music software, such as digital audio workstations (DAWs) or sequencers.
The file is exported in MIDI format 1.
Export Process
To export a score, navigate to the File > Export > MIDI menu. All active tracks are included in the MIDI file, except those set to mute in the mixing console, located in the left part of the Global View. To exclude a track, simply mute it before exporting.
Guitar Pro can assign two channels to a single track to enhance sound rendering. However, some software may not support multiple channels for the same track.
If you encounter issues opening MIDI files exported from Guitar Pro, configure your tracks to use a single channel per track before exporting.
This MIDI export feature is ideal for musicians looking to integrate their scores into other musical environments while maintaining optimal compatibility.
