Pick Scrape in Guitar Pro 8

The Pick Scrape in Guitar Pro is a visual annotation representing a slide of the pick along the strings.

This effect is not played back by the audio engine but serves as an expressive cue for instrumental performance.

Available in the Editing Palette and the Effects menu, it allows you to notate this technique commonly used in rock or metal contexts, especially as an intro or rhythmic accent.

Using Pick Scrape

In Guitar Pro, select a note or a position, then click the corresponding icon in the Editing Palette:

  • Pick Scrape Up for a motion from the bridge toward the neck.
  • Pick Scrape Down for a motion from the neck toward the bridge.

The annotation is displayed as a wavy line pointing upward or downward, depending on the chosen direction.

Pick Scrape

Pick Scrape, like Dead Slap, is a visual annotation only in Guitar Pro.
It is not played by the audio engine but appears in the score as a performance indication.
