Raoul Tchoï
Raoul Tchoï is an artist, session guitarist, recording and mixing engineer, and content creator with over 43.8k followers on Instagram. Whether he’s demoing gear from major international brands or releasing music across various projects, one thing is clear: guitar enthusiasts can’t get enough of his punchy videos and cool tracks.
Born and raised in northern France, Raoul grew up in a richly diverse musical environment, listening to everything from Korean folk songs and opera to hard rock. He picked up the guitar at the age of six and it stuck. After playing in high school bands, he went on to join more ambitious projects in Paris, where he studied Law and Art History at PSL. Reflecting on his studies, he says:
“My law degree has proven incredibly useful throughout my journey, and I would highly recommend anyone getting into the music industry to take at least a crash course on the subject.”
After graduating, Raoul briefly pursued a master’s in musicology before deciding to build a career as a freelance sound engineer. But it’s content creation that has ultimately become his main focus, demoing gear while showcasing his own compositions. He’s collaborated with top-tier brands such as headless guitar market leader Strandberg Guitars, demonstrating the Boden Standard NX 6 Tremolo while playing “Neon Orange”; Cradle Audio x Audio Imperia, composing a piece with their virtual instrument “Weird Strings”; and Submission Audio, taking part in their “Jam of the Month” challenge with an improvised performance over the OmniBass track.
Raoul is also the bassist and producer of Panache!, a French pop quintet formed during his university years. Inspired by acts like Parcels and L’Impératrice, the band has released two EPs and one full-length album: their debut Panache!, Paradis, and the ’80s disco LP Corine dans le club. He’s also teamed up with Joel Truelsen for a new project: KVLT AF, a “silly semi-serious metal band” with a four-track EP titled NOLAG on the way.
Raoul has embraced the educational side of music as well. He’s partnered with Your Guitar Academy and launched his own tab library, ChillyTabs, a free resource open to all written with Guitar Pro.
With his debut solo album on the way, expect something as eclectic and dynamic as Raoul himself. And if you’re in the mood for fresh disco vibes, give Panache! a listen, they won’t disappoint.
Here’s a snippet of when we met Raoul at The 2025 NAMM SHOW, explaining his story with Guitar Pro:
Guitar Pro’s the most intuitive, easy to use software to create and share tabs. It’s an invaluable tool for learning/teaching guitar and bass nowadays.
What is your favourite feature?
Being able to input all the notes with a keyboard. I’m starting to get the hang of it and it makes even tedious transcripts bearable.
How long have you been using it?
About 6 years on and off but more regularly in the past 2 years since my audience often requests tabs for my music.
