Lukas Kocka
Lukas Kocka is a Czech guitarist, composer, and mentor based in Brighton, United Kingdom.
His guitar journey began at the age of 10, inspired by the powerful riffs of Metallica – a passion that quickly became a lifelong pursuit. By the time he turned 16, Lukas was diving deep into music theory and advanced techniques, attending a music school where his teacher introduced him to the intricate style of Frank Gambale.
This experience set Lukas on a mission: to master technical fluency and achieve complete freedom across the fretboard. His journey taught him the challenges intermediate players face – feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to level up.
In 2020, Lukas launched Modern Guitar Course with a clear goal – to help players through the intermediate rut to get their playing where it deserves to be.
Guitar Pro was one of the first things I started using when I began playing the guitar. Having the ability to listen to and view the music transcription at the same time while playing, absolutely blew me away.
Being also able to slow down challenging parts of songs, loop them and use the progressive speed to nail those parts helped me tremendously on my guitar journey, to this day!
