Back in 1976, it was pretty much impossible to listen to the radio for a full hour without hearing More Than A Feeling. The self-titled debut album by the Boston band (they ARE from Boston and their name IS Boston) introduced FM-friendly rock to the world, and the world bought twenty millions of it. Tom Scholz’s lush playing and burning sound also started a trend that was to be heard on almost every studio album for the fifteen years to follow. He also invented the Rockman preamp but that’s a whole other story.
