Jack Skett [Soul, UK]
Jack Skett is a guitarist from Hertfordshire, UK. He started playing guitar aged 7, at first taking lessons in classical guitar. At age 13 he got his first electric guitar and began to teach himself through listening to CDs and playing what he heard. This, coupled with his grounding in music theory through classical music, helped develop Jack’s ability to transcribe music. After finishing school Jack moved to Coventry to study guitar at Nexus (www.nexustrust.co.uk), where he became a part of soul/gospel band Dear Miss Nathaniel. Their debut album, Unseen, is available on iTunes. Jack has also done some session work, both live and in the studio. Most recently he played guitar on a progressive metal project entitled The Sacrament Guard.
Jack currently lives in Coventry and works as a guitar teacher both privately and in a number of local schools. His band, Dear Miss Nathaniel is currently writing material for their second album while booking gigs in the local area.
Guitar Pro 6 has changed my approach to transcribing music. I’ve used a variety of other software over the years but none of them have the scope and capabilities of Guitar Pro 6. I’d honestly reached a point where transcribing felt more like a chore than anything else, but since I’ve been working with Guitar Pro 6 I just can’t get enough! It has already been an invaluable tool for my teaching, as well as for song writing with Dear Miss Nathaniel.
