Windows users :
Once the installation process is finished, you can launch Guitar Pro from the Desktop or the « Start > Programs > Guitar Pro 5 » menu of Windows.

Q18 : How to have two notes played in the same time but having two different durations ?
You have to use the « Voices » system appeared in Guitar Pro 5. It takes place of the beat duration / note duration of earlier versions.
Staves of Guitar Pro 5 contain two independent voices. This notation is closer to the musical notation standards.
To edit a voice, choose the « Edit > Voices > Edit Voice 1 [Lead] » or « Edit > Voices > Edit Voice 2 [Bass] » menus. For more obviousness, you can choose to grey out the voice you're not editing at the moment: « Edit > Voices > Gray Inactive Voice ».
You can also use the « Note > Sound Duration = X% ». If you change the coefficient, the display of the note won't change on the score but you will hear the difference in the sustain.

Mac users :
PDF, BMP and JPEG exports are possible in Guitar Pro Mac but not accessible directly from the menus. You have to choose « File > Print... », then in the « Print » window, click on the « Preview » button which will open a preview that you can save (« File > Save as... ») in the format you want

Mac users :
If you don't get a .dmg file, use Safari or Mozilla Firefox to download.
If it's a .dmg file but Mac OS X doesn't find the right software to open it, do a right click (or a « Control » + click) on the file then choose « Open with > DiskImageMounter ».
Finally, if you get a message which informs you that the program didn't manage to mount the image, this means that the file is corrupted and you have to download it again.
Q23 : I installed the trial version, then the full version, but when I launch Guitar Pro the software informs me that the trial version is still time limited or over.

You have to activate the « Keep the current bar viewable when playing » option by clicking on the small button with a magnifier icon in the right bottom corner of the score.
Q28 : I don't hear the metronome and / or I don't hear MIDI tracks during playback.
If the problem concerns only the metronome, first check that its volume is not at zero in the « General » tab of the Preferences panel («Options > Preferences» on Windows and
«Guitar Pro > Preferences» on Mac).
Windows users :
Please check your Windows mixtable. You can open it by using the « Options > Windows Volume Control» menu of Guitar Pro.
In the new window, please check if :
- The [Synth SW] strip is not checked [muted]
- The [Synth SW] strip is on a good level
If you don't see this strip, in the option menu of « Windows Volume Control » window, go into « Properties », and select « Playing » in the « Adjust volume for » section.
Once the « Playing control » panel is displayed, check if the level of the « Synth SW » strip is not null.
Q29 : My exported WAV file doesn't have any sound.
Windows users :
In order to allow the WAV acquisition, with both MIDI and RSE sound, Guitar Pro uses the « Stereo Sound Mixing » line in the « Windows Volume Control » (accessible in the « Option » menu). Note that you must position yourself in the recording section (by default, the panel posted corresponds with the playing section). To do that, in the option menu of « Windows Volume Control » window, go into « Properties », and select « Recording » in the « Adjust volume for » section.
Once the « Recording control » panel is displayed, check if the « Stereo Sound Mixing » line is selected and its level not null. The level used must be relatively low to avoid the signal saturation in your exported WAV file.
Your computer is now ready for the RSE / MIDI sound acquisition in your WAV file from Guitar Pro.
