Q1 : MYSONGBOOK - What is it? Top

mySongBook is a new service for the online sale of music scores that is integrated in, and accessible from the Guitar Pro software program. All of the scores have been created by music teachers and professionals, and are Guitar-Pro certified. With two mouse clicks, you have access to a .gpx (i.e., Guitar Pro 6 format) sheet music library that is of high quality, totally secure, and legal.

As you navigate the mySongBook portal, you can browse our sheet music library, pre-visualize and pre-listen to the pieces offered, and thus make your choice. Once you have purchased your music scores, you will be able to access them immediately in your Guitar Pro software program, play them, change their tempo, play some specific passages in loops, mute some tracks, display the notes on a guitar fretboard or on a keyboard, etc.. If you wish to bring your scores anywhere with you, you will just need to print it out.

Q2 : MYSONGBOOK - What about navigation around mySongBook? Top

Search engine: find any music score by typing the name of the artist or the song's title you are looking for.

Special tags to refine your search: you can focus your search for scores on specific musical styles, playing levels, or playing techniques.

Available links on the homepage: in each category (score, artist, or songbook), you get to view the most downloaded scores, the latest additions to the portal, and an alphabetical classification.


Q3 : MYSONGBOOK - How do I browse the mySongBook score library? Top

Via Guitar Pro

Get access to the portal by clicking on the mySongBook thumb index located in the top right-hand corner of your Guitar Pro interface. If you cannot see it, make sure that the option "Show mySongBook tab" is selected in the program's Preferences.

Via mySongBook Player

To use mySongBook Player, download the free installation file off of our Product page.

Via www.mysongbook.com

mySongBook is also accessible on the website www.mysongbook.com.

You can read and play samples of any music scores you choose. For easier and faster searches, you have the possibility to browse your sheet music by filtering with key-words (title, singer), favorites, technical level, alphabetical order, and release date. All you need to do to browse our catalogue is create a mySongBook account


Q4 : MYSONGBOOK - What is the difference between mySongBook and mySongBook Player? Top

mySongBook Player allows you to read and play mySongBook music scores without need to start Guitar Pro 6. Playback is available with the RSE (Realistic Sound Engine). Guitar Pro 6 will let you choose to do the same either in the RSE or MIDI formats.

Audio rendition in mySongBook Player may slightly differ from that of Guitar Pro 6. That is normal: the soundbanks embarked with the Player have been made lighter for technical reasons pertaining to the program's installation process. No additional soundbanks are integrated in it.


To get access to mySongBook, you will need to install the update 6.1 (or higher) of Guitar Pro 6. To proceed to that update or check that you are already using version 6.1, please read our dedicated tutorial. To use mySongBook Player, download the free installation file off of our Product page.

Access to the portal is the same on both interfaces. You can sign in with the same log-in information. You will find there all of the Guitar Pro playback options: countdown, metronome, speed trainer, or loop-playback on multiple selections.


Q5 : ACCOUNT - How do I create a mySongBook account? Top

Sign into the mySongBook portal, and click on the tab "Create an account". Fill in the required information and agree to our "Terms and Condition of Sale". You will then be e-mailed the confirmation for your registration, with a 4-digit code. You will need to provide that code after you have validated your personal information in order to confirm the registration of your account.


Q6 : ACCOUNT - I have not received any registering-confirmation e-mail for my user's account. Top

In case you do not receive the e-mail containing the 4-digit code required to validate your user's account, please first check that that message is not in your spam box. If that is the case, we advise you to set your anti-spam filter so it does not block out any e-mail coming from mysongbook.com, or to add contact@mysongbook.com as an accepted sender to your address book.

In case that message is not to be found in your spam box, please ask for a new e-mail by clicking on "I have not received a confirmation e-mail", on the "Sign in" thumb index of the portal.


Q7 : ACCOUNT – Will my Guitar Pro license (UserID/KeyID) let me log into the mySongBook service? Top

No. You cannot use your Guitar Pro user's info (UserID/KeyID) to place orders on mySongBook. You first need to create a new account.



Q8 : ACCOUNT - I have lost my password. How can I retrieve it? Top

In case you have lost or forgotten your password, you can find the option "I have forgotten my password" on the "Sign in" thumb index. You will be e-mailed a temporary password, at the address you gave when you signed up. Do change it as soon as you can.

In case the e-mail address you used to create your license is no longer active, do contact us directly on the Guitar Pro customer support area, with a brief explanation of your problem.


Q9 : LANGUAGES – In which languages is the music-score portal available? Top

The mySongBook portal is available in two languages: English and French.


Q10 : LICENSE – May I use the mySongBook portal on more than one computer? Top

You can access the mySongBook portal and your purchased scores with any computer equipped with Guitar Pro 6.1 (and higher). However, under no circumstances are you allowed to give your log-in information to anybody else.


Q11 : LICENSE - Which version of Guitar Pro do I need to have access to the portal mySongBook? Top

You are using Guitar Pro

Version 6.1 (and higher) of Guitar Pro 6 allows you to have access to the portal. To update your software or see if you already have version 6.1 installed, please read our dedicated tutorial.

You are using mySongBook Player

mySongBook Player gives you free access to the music-score portal. Discover the player by downloading it directly off of our Product page. Do make sure that your computer meets the technical specifications required to run the player.


Q12 : LICENSE - May I share my account with other users? Top

No. It is expressly forbidden to make your mySongBook user's information available to any other users , by any means. Giving away, in any way, shape, or form, your personal information to anyone else will lead to the closing of your account by the company Arobas Music, publisher of the Guitar Pro software. Please do refer to our "Terms and Conditions of Sale".


Q13 : MUSIC SCORE - Can I save a mySongBook score on my computer? Top

No. If you wish to read and use your music sheets you will need to log into the mySongBook portal. You cannot use that service without an Internet connection.

Once you have purchased music scores, you will be able to access them immediately in your Guitar Pro software program, play them, change the playing speed, play certain passages in loops, mute some tracks, display the notes on a guitar fretboard or on a keyboard, etc. If you wish to carry your music sheets anywhere with you, you will just need to print them out.


Q14 : MUSIC SCORE – Can I suggest a new piece for the mySongBook portal? Top

You can post your suggestions for music scores directly on mySongBook by way of the [Feedback] tab present on the Home screen of the score portal.


Q15 : ORDERING – How can I buy a music score? Top

You have not created a mySongBook account yet:

Click on the score you wish to purchase and select "Buy". A window will open, for you to click on "Create an account". Fill in the information required, including your bank card details. Once your purchase is validated, you will find it in the "My purchases" area. You will be e-mailed a confirmation of purchase when we debit your payment, within 1 to 7 days.

You already have a mySongBook account:

Sign in to your mySongBook account with your e-mail address and password. Then click on the score you with to purchase and select "Buy". Your purchase is validated, and you can find your music sheet in "My purchases". You will be e-mailed a confirmation of purchase when we debit your payment, within 1 to 7 days.


Q16 : ORDERING – Is the method of payment totally secure? Top

Yes. The payment for music scores on mySongBook resorts to the secure Paybox system. Every stage of the payment is encrypted and protected. At no time do Arobas Music or Paybox store or have access to your bank card number in its entirety. Your bank information and details cannot be stolen or retrieved.


Q17 : ORDERING – What methods of payment do I have at my disposal to buy music scores? When will my payment be debited? Top

You can shop with a bank card. We do accept most of them: Visa, MasterCard, and others. You may also use Paypal as you browse the website www.mysongbook.com. Payments by bank transfer or American Express, however, are not accepted. For any commercial or technical questions, please contact our team by way of the [Feedback] tab present on the mySongBook portal.

Payments on mySongBook are deferred payments. Your orders are not debited immediately if they are under 15 Euros/Dollars worth of purchase. Expect a 1- to 7-day delay for your payments to be debited off your account. You will, however, have immediate access to the music scores after you purchase them.


Q18 : ORDERING – Why did I not receive any confirmation by e-mail after I placed my order? When do I receive it? Top

Ordering on mySongBook resorts to deferred payment. Your payments will not be debited immediately if they are inferior to 15 euros or dollars. Beyond that, 1 to 7 days are needed for your payment to be debited. However, you do have access to your purchased scores immediately after you have bought them.

Once your payment has been received, you will be e-mailed a summary of your order.


Q19 : ORDERING - What is a promotional code and how can I use it? Top

Arobas Music may at times e-mail you a promotional code. To use that promotional code, click on "Buy" and simply type it in the appropriate box.

The promotional code has no monetary value. It allows you to get a music score for free on the portal, no matter its original price. Promotional codes cannot be applied to purchasing songbooks.


Q20 : ORDERING - Can I sign up for a subscription giving me access to all of the portal's music scores? Top

No. The scores can be bought either individually, or as songbooks. For your information, that service is still under negotiation with the copyright owners.



Q21 : PURCHASE - Where do I find the music scores I have bought? Top

All of the scores bought by the user remain available in the "My Scores" area of mySongBook. You can browse them easily, thanks to the various display options and the integrated search engine. Accessing your scores is immediate and unlimited in time.

Your music scores are available via your Guitar Pro software. We are working on designing new tools to make your music-score library available via your mobile phone.

Due to issues pertaining to copyright protection, the scores bought by users cannot be saved on their personal computers.


Q22 : PURCHASE - Do I indefinitely own the music sheets I buy? Top

Yes. Each music sheet can be consulted in the "My Scores" area designed to that effect. Users have access to the portal's scores as long as they do not delete their accounts.


Q23 : PURCHASE - Why are there certain scores I cannot buy? Top

Certain music scores may not be available for consultation on the mySongBook portal in your country of residence. Indeed, some files are subject to limitations regarding the rights to use or reproduce them depending on geographical areas. If you have questions on that point, please contact the For any other request, please contact the Guitar Pro commercial support.


Q24 : PURCHASE – Can I get a refund for my purchase? Top

Yes. Users do have a right to cancel a given purchase, according to the rules of the French Code of Consumption. However, in case the corresponding music score has already been opened in the software program, the right to cancel the purchase no longer applies.

Q25 : SOUND - The actual score does not sound as it did in its pre-listening version available in mySongBook. Top

You are using Guitar Pro

The pre-listening samples in mySongBook have been produced with the Guitar Pro standard and additional soundbanks. If you do not use our additional soundbanks, the audio rendition of your scores may slightly differ from their pre-listening versions.

You are using mySongBook Player

Q26 : SOUND – Why is the RSE (Realistic Sound Engine) technology not functioning under my Guitar Pro Lite license? Top

The Lite version of Guitar Pro does not come with the RSE (Realistic Sound Engine) technology. The Lite version of the program will only use the MIDI format for score playback.


Q27 : BILLING – How can I edit my receipt after a purchase? Top

Ordering on mySongBook resorts to deferred payment. Your payments will not be debited immediately if they are inferior to 15 euros or dollars. Beyond that, 1 to 7 days are needed for your payment to be debited. However, you do have access to your purchased scores immediately after you have bought them.

Once your payment has been debited, your receipt will be available in the "My billing statement" section under the thumb index "My Scores". Please fill in your postal address to visualize your receipt online and print it out. Thank you for reading our "Terms and Conditions of Sale".


Q28 : SMARTPHONE – Can I have access to my music scores on my mobile phone? Top

Not at the moment. We are planning on developing that functionality.


Q29 : WEB - Is the portal destined to become an Internet site? Top

mySongBook is now online at www.mysongbook.com. Your user information remains the same and grants you access to our service without use of your Guitar Pro. Of course you will find record of your purchases under the "My Scores" tab.


Q30 : ACCOUNT CLOSURE – I wish to delete my account with mySongBook. Top

You may close your mySongBook account at any time. To do so, click on the menu "My account", then "Edit my information", and then "Delete my account".

By un-subscribing from the mySongBook service, you lose all access to the scores you have bought.

Practical tip: Think of printing out your scores before you close your account, so you can keep them afterwards.
