Q1 : What differences are there between the demo and the full versions of Guitar Pro 6? 
The demo version can open only the files that have been included in the software as samples. It cannot import or save files; and the RSE is limited to 5 soundbanks only (acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, drums, and piano).

- Does Guitar Pro support the Mandolin, Ukulele...?
YES
All fretted 4- to 8-stringed instruments are supported, and their tunings are fully configurable.
NB: You can write scores for the mandolin, but Guitar Pro doesn't for the time being carry the corresponding soundbank.
- Can I plug a MIDI instrument (keyboard, guitar) in and capture what I play into Guitar Pro?
YES
Guitar Pro 6 does support MIDI capture.
- Can I import a WAV or MP3 file?
NO
WAV and MP3 are particular audio signal files from which it is very difficult, or even impossible, to properly extract a score.
Q3 : What are the basic technical requirements to use Guitar Pro 6?

Q4 : Is Guitar Pro 6 compatible with all Operating Systems? 
Guitar Pro is natively Windows / Mac OS X / GNU Linux compatible.
On Windows: Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
On Mac: Mac OS X 10.4 and later (
Intel processors only).
On Linux: Ubuntu (officially supported distribution).
Q5 : May I install Guitar Pro on more than one computer? 
YES. Your license allows you one installation and the use of only one copy of the software on up to a maximum of 5 computers or operating systems, over a period of 12 consecutive months – with the understanding that a license, even though it may be installed on more than one computer or system, is destined to one particular user only, with a tolerance for an extension to the family. This is meant to allow you, should the need arise, to re-install GUITAR PRO after you have reformatted your computer or changed your operating system.
Q6 : Is there a smartphone, iPhone, or iPad version of Guitar Pro? 
NOT for the moment, but an iPhone / iPda version is under development.
Q7 : What is "Instant Download"? 
Do you wish to download Guitar Pro right away? Just type your e-mail address in the order form, and choose whichever type of payment you prefer -- credit card or Paypal. As soon as your payment is processed (normally under one minute), you will receive an e-mail with your personal license. You will then be able to download the full version of Guitar Pro from our website, by logging into the Customer Area of our Support section.
Please note that you can still give us an e-mail address even if you have chosen another form of payment. In that case, your license will be sent to you by e-mail as soon as we receive your payment.
Q8 : Shall I receive a box if I choose to download the software? 
You will also receive a box with a DVD-ROM if you've checked the corresponding option (with additional shipping costs) on the order form. You will be able to download the software in any case.
Q9 : How long does the shipping take? 
You need to allow a minimum of 3 business days for France, 4 to 6 days for Europe, and 10 to 14 days for the rest of the world.
Q10 : How much does shipping cost? 
Depending on the country, shipping costs 9.95 EUROS, if you order the DVD-ROM together with the software. You can also place an order for the DVD at a later date, in our Customer Area.
Q11 : How do I only get the downloadable version of the software? 
Simply leave the "DVD-ROM" option unchecked on the order form.
Q12 : Does the software come with a paper user's handbook? 
NO. Complete documentation is included in the software itself (menu Help > Help).
Q13 : Is your payment system secure? 
YES, IT IS. Our website is equipped with a secured online payment system directly linked to the bank via our partner
CIC (Solution de
Paiement CIC -- the CIC Group is the third largest banking network in France). The information you type in is encrypted and sent directly to the bank. We personally never have any knowledge of your credit card number.
Please note that you may also use
PayPal for credit card payment (even if you don't have a PayPal account). This is a service used by over 150 million Internet users, and it is one of the best ways to place orders on commercial websites.
Q14 : I do not want to pay online, or I have no credit card. How can I place my order? 
Other "offline" payment options are offered on our order form online: you can pay via a bank transfer, or by check (for France only). You will find all necessary information at the end of the ordering process.
Q15 : I want to pay by credit card but your system rejects my card. 
For the moment, we can only accept VISA ou MasterCard. If you use AMERICAN EXPRESS or DISCOVER, please select the PayPal payment option.
Q16 : How can I cancel an order? 
If you have already completed your payment (by credit card or Paypal), you cannot cancel your order, so DO NOT PLACE A SECOND ORDER!
If you haven't completed payment, you don't have to do anything. You can place a new order, or leave it at that. We won't contact you if your payment remains pending, and it will be canceled after 6 months
Q17 : Can I pay for someone else, and what name must I write in the order form? 
YES, you can order a Guitar Pro license for someone else. The person who
registers his/her license is the one we'll consider to be the final user. So you can either directly write that person's name, e-mail and postal addresses in the order form, or yours if you prefer to receive the software and give it later to the person (as a gift, for example).
Q18 : Is there a rebate for users of previous versions? 
YES, there is. Please look up the
Upgrade FAQ.
Q19 : I would like to translate the Guitar Pro software into my own language, how should I go about it?

Q20 : I bought Guitar Pro 6, do I need to pay again to get the latest version 6.x? 
NO. As a registered version 6 customer, you are entitled to free updates to 6.x.
Just as well, you can download the software again, free of charge, is you move to another platform (Linux, Windows, or Mac OS); and activate it up to 5 times over a one-year period.
The updates are automatic, with the Updater integrated into Guitar Pro 6.

Q21 : What do I do if the system does not recognize my USER ID and KEY ID? 
First make sure that you have correctly entered your USER ID and KEY ID (for instance, do not type "1nt" fo "int", and respect the format xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx for the Key ID). If you are sure you have, then maybe your license is not in our customer base. Please
contact us, we'll find a solution.
